Charging card rates

How does the charging rate work when I use my InCharge charging card?

At our InCharge charging stations, you only pay one price per kWh of electricity that you charge. That price includes the electricity, the load, the installation of the charging station, and the costs we incur for the charging network. That's why it's a different price than what you pay at a home charging station.

If you charge at another provider's charging station, you also pay a fee of €0,35 incl. btw per charging session. That's why you usually pay less at our own charging stations.

You can see in our app the price you pay at each charging station.

Can I start a session at a Vattenfall charging station without a charging card?

Yes. You can also start a charging session with the Vattenfall app. You  can register your credit card in the app and use it to pay per charging session as a guest user.

You can also can start charging sessions via the app as a registered user with your charging card. In that case you don't need your physical charging card, and the costs will be deducted at the end of the month via your registered payment method.

How are charging rates determined?

The provider of your charging card or charging app determines the rate you pay. That price can be calculated in different ways. For example, you might pay per minute, per session, or per kWh. You might also pay a subscription fee.

The administrator of the charging station and the location of the charging station can also influence the charging rate.

You can find out how the price you pay is calculated on the website of the charging card or app you use.

Example: InCharge charging card

When you use our InCharge charging card at an InCharge charging station, you pay one price per kWh.

You charge 20 kWh at a charging station with a rate of € 0,40.

Therefore you pay 20 x € 0,40 = € 8

Example: Other charging cards

If you charge with another charging card at an InCharge charging station, you do not pay the Vattenfall rate. You then pay the rate of the charging card provider.

You charge 20 kWh at a charging station with a rate of € 0,50 and a start-up fee of € 0,35.

You therefore pay 20 x € 0,50 + €0,35 = € 10,35

Charging station rates

How does the charging rate work when I charge at an InCharge charging station?

When you charge at an InCharge charging station with our InCharge charging card, you only pay one price per kWh of electricity that you charge. You can find that price in our app or on our website.

If you charge with a different charging card, the provider of that card determines the price you pay at an InCharge charging station. The provider pays us one price, but can charge you a higher or lower price. Therefore, always check the price in the app or on the website of the provider of your charging card.

Why do I pay a different price per kWh of electricity at a public charging station than at home?

The price you pay for electricity is only one component of a charging rate. A charging rate can also include other costs, such as the installation of the charging station or the cost of maintaining the charging network.

Why are there different charging rates per region?

Charging station operators and charging card providers set their own prices.

Energy companies purchase electricity for different regions. They do not do this for all regions at the same time. So if the price for electricity differs at different times, the price per region also differs.
